No Half Measures
After the flurry of size zero devices, the Lenovo Ideapad Z580 is regular size, just the way laptops were till sometime back. By no means is it bulky, but yes, it weighs a robust 2.6 kg, and has everything you expect to find in a laptop. It comes with a full-sized keyboard facing the 15.6-inch LED backlit display. Sadly, it has only a 1366x768p resolution and that too on a screen with limited angles and brightness. But while we were not that impressed by the screen, the Dolby augmented audio is top notch. The performance is what you would expect from a top of the line Intel i7-3612QM processor, but there are issues like heating. The battery is okay, giving over four hours in the balanced mode. The laptop has an extra large 1 TB hard drive, four USB ports, LAN, HDMI, 5-in-1 card reader and, yes, there is a Blu-ray drive too, just in case you thought optical drives had become extinct.
+ve: Overall performance 1 TB hard drive, ports, Blu-ray

Camera With Brains
The Nikon Coolpix S800c is among the first Android cameras in India. It has a solid build, making it a little more bulky than regular point-and-shoots. Unlike many other cameras, this one has three phone-like keys for Menu, Home and Back below the large 3.5-inch OLED touch screen. The camera runs the Android 2.3.3 version and anyone who has used an Android phone will know how to handle it. This means you can tap into the Android ecosystem and download tonnes of photo apps to add value to your pictures. The picture quality is good, thanks to the 16MP CMOS sensor and 10X Nikkor lens, but with the apps you can do lots of tweaking and share to social networks instantaneously. With a 1.7 GB internal memory there is plenty of storage space. There is also the option of saving files to the cloud just in case you do not have a memory card. The camera can connect to the web through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for sharing.
+ve: Easy to use, connectivity App ecosystem
-ve: Limited camera functions Noisy zoom
