EQUITY ASSET MANAGEMENT HOUSE OF THE YEAR: Franklin Templeton Investments

Established in 1996, it took over India's first private sector mutual fund, Pioneer ITI AMC, in 2002. It had assets under management, or AUM, of Rs 45,000 crore on 31 March 2014. It has a wide experience of investing in both equities and debt across market cycles. A large number of its funds are more than 10 years old. Most have been consistent performers. The fund house is focused on product innovation and service delivery.

Its services include NRI consulting, insurance planning, financial education and real estate advisory. It is a 40-people organisation with offices in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi and a client base of 400-plus families. Its AUM is Rs 500 crore and risk cover is Rs 250 crore. All advisors and relationship managers are mandated to enroll in the 'Certified Financial Planner' programme of the FPSB (Financial Planning Standards Board).
