Titan Company Limited is among India’s prominent manufacturers and marketers of fashion accessories. It is primarily known as a watch manufacturer. The company’s portfolio includes an array of fashionable watches for men, women and children. Indian multinational conglomerate, Tata Group is the parent firm of Titan Company. The firm’s corporate headquarter is situated in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The journey of Titan Company towards becoming a leading watch manufacturer began in 1984. In that year, Tata Group and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) came together to form a Joint Venture (JV) in order to manufacture watches in the country. This JV came to be known as Titan Watches Limited. The company established its first manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.  However, production didn’t begin till 1986. 1987 was the year when watches under the brand ‘Titan’ were finally launched. After finding success in the watch market, in 1993, the company decided to venture into the jewellery segment. Three years later, Titan Company would launch its first jewellery brand ‘Tanishq’. Another significant thing that happened in 1996 was that the company rebranded and changed its name to Titan Industries Ltd. 1998 was the year when Titan Industries launched the popular watch brand Fastrack. In 2007, the company launched the Titan Eyewear Division which was a project for manufacturing and selling prescription eyewear. In the same year, Titan launched its second jewellery brand, Gold Plus. Two years later in 2009, Titan launched its third jewellery brand, Zoya, which was positioned as a luxury jewellery brand. In 2011, Titan launched Mia, an affordable jewellery range crafted for working women. In the same year, it acquired the Swiss watch brand Favre-Leuba. In 2013, Titan entered the perfume segment with SKINN. In the same year, the company rebranded and changed its name to Titan Company. Titan relaunched Favre-Leubin 2016. In 2016, Tanishq acquired the online jewellery platform, Carat Lane. In 2020, Titan Company launched its first smart watch, Titan Connected X.

The company's watch portfolio includes popular brands such as Titan, Fastrack, Sonata, and Xylys among others. Under its jewellery brand ‘Tanishq’, Titan Company markets different types of gold, diamond and platinum jewellery. Titan Company’s eyewear business operates under the brand name ‘Titan Eyeplus’. In this segment, the company markets eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses.
