If you are planning to buy a luxury SUV, here's a good news: JLR India, which is owned by Tata Motors, has launched Jaguar F-Pace, a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine vehicle with whopping Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom) reduction in price as compared to the CBU Prestige. The huge drop in price has been attributed to the company's decision to manufacture the SUV in its Pune plant.
So far, JLR is learnt to have commenced local manufacturing for only the 2018 model with 20d AWD Prestige trim. The latest model is sixth from the auto major that is being made locally. Some prominent features of this sports car inspired vehicle include 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine with 132PS at 4,000rpm, peak torque of 430Nm at 1,750-2,500rpm, top speed of 208kmph, and 100kmph acceleration in just 8.7 seconds.
"The launch of the locally manufactured F-PACE signifies another milestone in our continued commitment and efforts towards 'Make in India' policy of the Indian government," Rohit Suri, Managing Director & President, JLRIL, told the Times of India. Suri added the luxury model Jaguar F-Pace, through its amazing features, had been able to spread its customer base across India.
Besides having 10.2-inch touchscreen with 380W Meridian sound system and GPS navigation, some other attractive features of the five-seater SUV are activity key, a Wi-Fi hotspot and LED headlights, climate control system, stability control and rear reclining seats. Bookings are still on, and the company will start delivery by the November end.
