India Today Group's Editorial Director Kalli Purie on April 7 was awarded the title of Young Woman Achiever for excellence in media. Purie was also listed as India's most influential women in media, marketing and advertising at Impact magazine's award ceremony.
Speaking on what this achievement means to her, Kalli Purie said: "I am feeling very good because its an award given by women and that's a special honor."
Purie also shared some moments of newsroom and said: "People in the newsroom today were saying that you should be competing in general category and not in women sub-category, but they don't understand that to be awarded by women whose standards are so high, it means so much to me."
The programme Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) was held at Hotel Lalit where Union Minsiter Smriti Irani handed the award to Kalli Purie.
The award ceremony is held every year to honour women who have outperformed in their respective fields and have significantly contributed to the society.
These awards are given to promote women entrepreneurship. Other awardees included Sussanne Khan, Simran Lal, Shaina NC, Deepa Malik, Chiki Sarka, Malvika Poddar, Gauri Shinde among others
